How the VFITB works with the National Industry Skills Council, AgriFood Skills Australia

AgriFood Skills Australia is responsible for the development of the above training packages. If you have any feedback on any training package under their coverage please visit the AgriFood Skills Australia.

The state ITABs have long working relationships with the national Industry Skills Councils, and prior to their formation, with National Industry Training Boards and the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA). The current activities conducted between the VFITB and AgriFood Skills Australia can be summarised as per below:

Assistance in industry liaison to consider training package reviews, distribution of draft units, reminders of time frames to respond, assistance with Training Package consultants to link to Victorian companies, and assist with the coordination of relevant meetings to bring industry and TP consultants together.
  2. Assistance to AgriFood Skills Australia when running conferences and seminars in Victoria. Assistance with publicity, with introductions to relevant companies to be involved, ideas for venues, timing, content, etc.
  3. Liaison with the DEEWR WELL consultant based at AgriFood Skills Australia, to provide them with opportunities to present program material to industry representatives, assist in setting up meetings between WELL staff and industry representatives, and related reinforcement of messages and materials.
  4. Assistance with the AgriFood Skills Australia annual Environmental Scans, by providing the annual state Skill Needs Report and other relevant material. Promotion of the availability of the ES each year.
  5. General publicity of all relevant AgriFood Skills Australia's activities, publications, events, project highlights, to the Victorian food processing industry.
