Food Maintenance Training 2009

Food Maintenance Final Report thumb

Throughout 2009, the VFITB in conjunction with MESAB and supported by Skills Victoria, conducted a project to explore training options for Mechanical Trades people in the Food Processing industry. We are pleased to publish the final report and receive feedback from interested parties. In the first half of this year we will be promoting the options and training package customisation suggested in the report. We look forward to continuing our work with industry and the training providers to better match industry's needs for specialisation and innovative delivery methods. The main goal of the 2008 Reframing the Future project was to be innovative in responding to the needs of students, and the emerging skill needs and workforce development requirements of industry and communities.

2007 Effective Networking - Industry Training Networks Report

The major ahievements of the 2007 industry training network include co-ordinating a diverse group of people across government, education, and training in the food industry. The collaboration between industry and RTO's, both public and private, where a range of information and experiences were exchanged. An international sustainability expert and guest speakers from industry provided hands-on information, knowledge and insights which provided the basis for participants to engage in open discussion and exchange of experiences at the network meeting and forum.

The Food Processing Industry Study Tour - 2006

In September 2006 the VFITB ran a Food Processing Industry Study Tour to create improved awareness of the career opportunities in the industry and to inform the development of skills as required by industry in tertiary level students.

Food Processing Assessor Network 2006

Food Processing Assessor Network 2006 thumbnail

The VFITB was contracted to produce documented assessment guidelines, advice and assessment tools for core units of competency from the FDF03 Food Processing Industry Training Package. This resource has been developed as part of a Training Package Implementation Project. Training package implementation project funding is provided to assist training providers with the implementation of National Training Packages and involve teacher networks to develop such resources.
