From the City of Whittlesea press release:

Donnybrook Farmhouse Cheese was recently nominated at the Northern Business Achievement Awards (NBAA) hosted by the City of Whittlesea and the City of Yarra.

The Northern Business Achievement Awards is a forum for business excellence in Melbourne’s north. The next step will see Donnybrook Farmhouse Cheese compete in the 2010 Grand Finale in December.

For over 20 years the Monteleone family has been making cheese in Australia and during that time has won many awards for their hand made traditional cheeses.

The Monteleone’s have come from 5 Generations of cheese makers and Bernardo aged 73 still milks the cows every day. “The secret to making excellent cheese starts with fresh milk, I’m passionate about my animals and when we treat them nicely they give excellent milk” says Bernardo.

In today’s modern big business world the Donnybrook farm is unique in that it sources its raw product (milk) from its own back yard, the milking, the manufacturing and the sales all from the farm.
