The VFITB conducted a half day forum for food processing industry representatives in October. The aim was to provide straight forward, interesting and inspiring information about accredited training opportunities in the food processing sector. One of the reasons it is complicated for industry representatives to access the training system is the separation of roles and responsibilities of key organisations. We strive to explain those roles and how to best work with the stakeholders to achieve your organisation and production aims.
Leanne McPherson
Turi Foods
Leanne has worked in the Poultry Industry for 25 years as a HR Generalist and now OH&S Manager. She manages all the training at 6 sites for Turi Foods from livestock to cheese. Everyone at the Geelong poultry site has completed or are in the process of completing Certificate II or III in Food Processing. The farming personnel have completed Certificate III in Agriculture. She also worked with the Gordon Institute on an interactive training resource for Food Industry communication and safety called 'How do you know?'
Nicole Lam
Training Coordinator, Nestle Campbellfield
After completing her Engineering studies at Monash University, Nicole has worked in the food industry for 17 years as a Packaging Technologist, SAP Project Implementation Project Team Member and Training Coordinator. She coordinates and monitors all training activities for the Nestle Campbellfield site. She has also been involved in writing and delivering accredited and non accredited training for the site.
