About Us

Corporate Structure

The Victorian Food Industry Training Board has updated its constitution and members are now able to participate at Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) meetings which focus on industry training needs rather than organisational governance.

As a result of these changes:

Industry Advisory Committee

The primary purpose of the committee is to identify and establish policy positions on key issues with respect to industry and training and to report decisions back to the VFITB executive committee.

The committee will also be encouraged to identify issues and initiate positions relevant to various industry sectors where specific issues arise. Relevant committee members will be invited to join an Industry Reference Group (IRG), with other relevant industry colleagues to address the issue and report back findings to the IAC and VFITB executive committee. IRGs will be formed to address specific issues, rather than being "standing committees" with regular meetings.

It is important for the committee work in collaboration with all stakeholders in order to provide the best possible outcomes.

The VFITB IAC will meet regularly to address industry training issues including:

Profile of VFITB Committee members:

VFITB Committee members are key players in the industry and are well positioned within their organisations to pursue an industry agenda on training issues.

Beyond this group of people, the aim of the committee is to work with a broad range of stakeholders amongst industry, training providers and others. Rather than operating a number of sector based standing committees, the organisation works with stakeholders on an issue by issue basis. This ensures VFITB can maintain its effectiveness and achieve its objectives within the resource base at its disposal

Each committee member is chosen for their ability to provide:

It is advantageous to have:

Benefits:

Through active participation and a commitment to engage with this committee, you can help shape and support the skills development needs and reputation of the various sectors of the food processing workforce. This will help to place you in a strong position with regard to the skills development of your own workforce. It will enhance your personal and professional skills and add a broader dimension to your business as you meet and network with other members of the business community. VFITB looks forward to your involvement and input.
